IoTCrazy ESP32-WROOM-32U with 3dBi Antenna, Micro-USB
Product Details
Overview
The IoTCrazy ESP32-WROOM-32U is the long-range member of the ESP32 family. Instead of a PCB trace antenna it carries a detachable 3 dBi external antenna, which measurably improves both Wi-Fi stability and BLE beacon detection compared with standard on-board antenna modules.
Underneath is the same dependable dual-core ESP32 with 520 KB of SRAM, combining Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in one module — a natural fit for smart devices, home automation and IoT builds. Customers have paired this board with ESPresense and Home Assistant for indoor positioning and device tracking, where the external antenna makes a real difference.
Each board arrives in anti-static packaging with foam protection, so pins arrive straight, and the headers are properly soldered for long-term reliability.
Before You Start
Driver requirement: this board uses a Silicon Labs CP210x USB-to-UART bridge, so you need the official CP210x driver before your computer will see it.
- Windows — Download and install the CP210x driver package
- macOS — Download and install the CP210x VCP driver package
- Linux — Most distributions already include CP210x support; just keep your kernel modules up to date
Once the driver is in place you can upload code from the Arduino IDE or ESP-IDF over a standard data-capable micro-USB cable. Our ESP32 setup guide walks through the whole process.
